Usama Dairies: Leading Dairy Education
Usama Dairies, Training and Research Institute was established in 2010 and independently started the enhancing the capacity of local community both male and females farmers on livestock and agricultural development on self-help. Usama Dairies, Training and Research Institute independently worked for one year and ultimately succeeded to implement the Diary development Project with the technical and financial support of USAID and DRDF (Dairy Rural Development Foundation)
Usama Dairies training and research designed way forward for the female farmers.

Achievement
In Pakistan especially South Punjab women are always ignored in all the fields of development and there is no any special initiative taken by Government or other Institute working in the area .Being male dominant society women cannot take any decision for their development. In Khanewal there are large no of female headed households with small holders
but never are included in any activity for livestock and agriculture development and women empowerment remain abig issue in the area .Dr. Nuzhat Altaf Executive Director of Usama Dairies , Training and reseach institute take positive initiative for women empowerment in the area and started the training of females farmers on live /dairy and agriculture development .In the start she invited females Rural farmers to visit the Usama Dairies Training and Research institute and motivated them by sharing good examples of livestock and agriculture
development by Livestock and agriculture farm being established and managed through institute .Women in the area were very much motivated and they were agree to start small farming .They came ahead and started to take the trainings and ultimately created tradition and opportunity for poor female farmers in the area .As most of them are living under the poverty line and it was not possible to purchase animals for their small farms.
