About Us
Introduction
Usama Dairies, Training and Research Institute was established in 2010 and independently started the enhancing the capacity of local community both male and females farmers on livestock and agricultural development on self-help. Usama Dairies, Training and Research Institute independently worked for one year and ultimately succeeded to implement the Diary development Project with the technical and financial support of USAID and DRDF (Dairy Rural Development Foundation)
The project was developed and trained small scale dairy farmers. Support these trained small holders financially to start their own small farms. Usama Dairies, Training and Research Institute also trained small farmers having less than and 10 cows on farm and livestock management, Usama Dairies, Training and Rese arch Institute is on 7 acres among total of 30 acres while reaming 23 acres are for the fodder land despite habing 20 acres for citrus fruit and grapes etc. Dairy shed have purebred and crossbred animals in which herd size is consisted of more than 200 animals including large and small animals. Farm is running with modern dairy practices including free access of water, silage feeding and artificial insemination. Fruit farm is being irrigated with drip irrigation system to save the water consumption and to get maximum yield/output.
Usama Dairies, Training and Research Institute Project is moving ahead as per the planned targets and goals for its 6th year. The project’s interventions are being extended towards Southern Punjab, mobilizing more potential beneficiaries, whereas, it is also selecting trainees from other rural areas of Khanewal District.
OBJECTIVE
- To act as model farm for the surrounding peoples /community to get maximum production /output from per animal and per acre by adopting modern dairy practices and agriculture techniques to minimize the cost of production.
- Poverty alleviation and improving living standards of community through capacity building trainings to get high production within economical cost.
- To conducted hundreds of capacity building trainings through which community is getting more benefit from their existing animals and acres within low cost of production
